First snow in Vancouver! Quite an exciting moment as it was our very first snow here! The whole scenery of the city was changed as all mountains were covered in snow and made the “every day view” of the North shore mountains a little bit different. There was even snow on the beaches and palmtrees!
It was a very cold but clear and sunny Sunday. We drove to West Vancouver for a little hike in the beautiful Lighthouse Park. After a 30 minute drive from downtown you find yourself right in the middle of a beautiful rainforest with massive trees including some of the largest fir and cedar trees in Vancouver. First stop was East Beach, a wonderful spot where you can still see the tall buildings of Vancouver.
What makes the view even more special: On that clear day you could even see Mount Baker in the US! It does not happen very often and therefore it was pretty exciting when this massive msytical white mountain suddenly appeared on the horizon – behind the great skyline of Vancouver! I was really blown away by that view. How terribly beautiful and cheesy!
