somewhereawesome #35: Canadian Rocky Mountains: Jasper and Maligne Lake

Jasper is beautiful and in my opinion not as busy with tourists as Banff and Lake Louise.

jasper-2Hiking: Around Maligne Lake (Mary Schaefer loop – very easy) and Opal Hill Loop (not so easy) for great views to the valley and Maligne Lake!

Camping: Whistlers Campground. (Better Waipiti CG but it was closed in June!)

Biking: perfect for XC, mountain and wilderness rides! Jasper has a huge and well-connected trail system. We did “Valley of the Five Lakes Loop”.

Swimming & Hanging: Pyramid lake Beach (Pyramid Beach Rd.), Annette Lake and Edith Lake

Wildlife: Jasper and around is the best spot to see wildlife: Bears, eagles, mountain goats, mooses, cariboos, deer, birds and birds, squirrels, etc.

Best coffee & scones: At the Bears´Paw Bakery in Jasper “downtown”.

Best FREE Wi-Fi-Spot: In Jasper it´s not easy to find any free Wi-Fi in Cafés. It´s not the nicest but you have everything you need at Mac´s Convenience store. (Coffee, ice-cream and snacks).
