Marrakech in the winter

Arriving in Marrakech, Marrocco on Dec. 20th was just beautiful with it´s 20 degrees and the clear view to the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains.

Straight from the airport we had a driver who brought us right in the middle of one of the most famous and craziest places I have ever seen – Djemaa el Fna where you can feel 100% Marrakech: A vast market place of high energy, of ladies decorating hands with henna, snake-oil sellers of powders and potions to heal all ills, itinerant dentists with sets of dentures and piles of teeth on display, fortune tellers, monkey men, who throw their animal on passers-by and charge for every photo taken and last but not least the famous and many pressed fresh orange juice carts. We were overwhelmed and impressed.

Best thing to do at el Fna place: Drink as many fresh squeezed orange juices as you can for less than 40 cents!
